Duke & The King in the Mail

Friday, 31st July 2009

Named after two characters in Mark Twain's The Adventures Of Huckberry Finn, this New York due are hillbilly-rocker Simone Felice and one-time George Clinton sidekick Robert Burke. Wistful but never too melancholy, this charming debut harks back to the singer-songwriter boom of the Seventies and already sounds like a sepia-tinted classic. If You Ever Get Famous channels the hobo spirit of Neil Young, while The Morning I Get To Hell recall The Eagles.
