New Vetiver Album 'Up On High' Out Today
Friday, 1st November 2019
Vetiver's seventh studio album and debut Loose release is out today on LP, CD & digitally. The reviews have been pouring in and very much lead us to believe that this is perhaps a record best enjoyed on a cold day, alongside a hangover. General feeling is also that it is up there with Vetiver's best work and we would certainly agree with that. We can't wait to hear these songs live. You can too.
"Nursing you back to equilibrium with its sumptuous balm of laid back-growers, Up On High is a near perfect hangover record"
""Andy Cabic’s Vetiver have been keeping a low profile for a few years, but this gorgeously laid-back album revives them as a force to be reckoned with" "the perfect winter album"
"…the culmination of everything we’ve long loved about Vetiver, complete with a woodsy acoustic guitar riff, Cabic’s calming whisper-vocals and lovely, longing lyrics."
"easy-going folk rock and Malibu-ready soul pop" "with their warmth and grace, "Wanted, Never Asked" and "Filigree" are two of several songs here that rank with Cabic's best"
"Like Vetiver’s best work (alongside which this album certainly stands), Up on High showcases the work of a veteran songsmith who realized the beauty of capturing and then sharing a musical moment."
"the perfect soundtrack for this time of year"
THE SUNDAY TIMES
"Vetiver hit a high. The album that should bring Vetiver many more listeners; wonderful songwriting excellently delivered"
"He knows how to master the kind of understated romanticism that - once it gets captured on tape - never fails to tuck its listeners in, away from the madness. Restrained and delicate, Up On High is a treat for lovers of breezy indie-folk"
"one of Vetiver’s finest efforts since forming 17 years ago"
"a beautiful offering, a sumptuous piece of acoustic pop that is finely crafted in its approach... A sculpted piece of golden hued songwriting"
SONG OF THE DAY
"Mixing pop with Americana and touches of Al Green and Josh Rouse, Vetiver take big swings on their new album." "What a wonderful record"
