Record Shop Of The Month: Hundred Records

Friday, 29th May 2015

We're not big on celebrating Record Store Day, here at Loose, but that certainly doesn't mean we don't have a huge amount of love for record shops. Of course we do. Admittedly, Rough Trade West tends to get a little bit of favouritism, being our local spot for in-stores performances and the odd exclusive, therefore. we decided it might be a nice idea to shine a little light on some of our favourite shops around the country. We'll be naming a "Shop Of The Month", each ...month, kicking things off in June with the relatively new Hundred Records in Romsey, Hampshire.Stop by Hundred Records, to take advantage of some great discounts on Loose releases throughout June and pick up one of our free label samplers with each Loose purchase. On Saturday the 6th June, Danny and Lushy of Danny & Champions Of The World fame, will be heading on down to Romsey to check out the shop, sign some records and celebrate the release of their new album 'What Kind Of Love', with a live in-store performance at Hundred Records. It'll be free entry and starts at 6pm.RSOTM

“there’s always been a sense of a tasteful restraint to the studio albums but unleashed on stage with their raspy vocals and heartland rock and soul, they’re like a power station on steroids.”

“This is a proper old school live album, makes you want to go to a gig”

ROBERT ELMS, BBC LONDON

“songs like This Is Not a Love Song and and Stay True which come at you one after the other; are destined to make ‘new fans’ wonder why these kids aren’t topping the bill at Glastonbury with their magic formula and bittersweet songs.”
