CARSON MCHONE
6:20 - 6:50
Carson McHone originally hails from Austin, Texas. In 2022 McHone released her second album Still Life on Loose. She wrote the songs of Still Life in quiet moments between tours then recorded in Ontario with Canadian musician, producer and now McHone’s husband Daniel Romano.
"Her supple voice is a thing of understated beauty" 8/10 AMERICANA ALBUM OF THE MONTH UNCUT
"The touchstone influences - Aimee Mann, Frazey Ford, Ann Peebles - barely begin to scratch the surface of the musical depths McHone mines on Still Life, which finally moves her on from being just 'one to watch' to the woman of the moment." ★★★★ MOJO
"Stripped back or full-blown, there’s something for everyone who loves Americana here - McHone is really flexing her musical muscles." HOLLER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE HANGING STARS
5:25 - 5:55
Channelling the sounds of The Byrds, Big Star and The Flying Burrito Brothers, as well as hints of Mojave 3 and The Allah Las, The Hanging Stars mainline the dying embers of the early 70s psychedelic folk and cosmic country scenes.
"gorgeous" ★★★★ THE TIMES
"The album exhibits a newfound, confident composure - like Teenage Fanclub, they’re more than the sum of their parts" 7/10 UNCUT
"classic 60's cosmic fare" MOJO
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOMMY PRINE
4:30 - 5:00
Loose are honoured and very pleased to welcome Tommy Prine to their stage. This year saw Prine release his debut album This Far South. Tommy is the son of the late great John Prine.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NATIVE HARROW
3:35 - 4:05
In the first days of 2021, Native Harrow moved from the USA to the seaside in Brighton, England. The band's leaders, Stephen Harms and Devin Tuel, arrived with a few trunks worth of books, clothes, guitars, and microphones. Settling in at the very top of a crumbling regency building where the seagulls call to the sun's rise and fall each day, they thought “this is the perfect place to make a record.” Old Kind of Magic, is the fifth album from Native Harrow.
"a richly diverse album that stretches from dusty Western swing to deep soul ballads" ★★★★ MOJO
"adds some UK folk flair to their US rock and soul, with vocalist Devin Tuel channeling Sandy Denny as well as Judy Collins" 7/10 UNCUT
"this is a beautiful album to savour, slowly, one song at a time" 8/10 AMERICANA UK
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ANGELICA ROCKNE
2:40 - 3:10
Californian Angelica Rockne came to Loose’s attention with her startling debut Queen Of San Antonio. Released back in 2017 the album led to LA Weekly heralding her as Best Country Singer of 2019. Loose released Rockne’s brilliant second album The Rose Society in the Summer of 2023.
"on Rockne’s radiant second album her sensory songs, pitted with subtle details, unfurl at their own unhurried pace" 8/10 UNCUT
"stealthily psychedelic Americana" ★★★★ MOJO
"she makes the kind of music that completely transforms the world around you when you listen to it, there is an exquisite well-mapped beauty to her songs" HOLLER
