Then Again At The Borderline.

Wednesday night and we were all down at The Borderline ready to do it all over again. As promised, Dawes did indeed crank up the sound for this one. They pulled out all the stops and went and totally rocked The Borderline, frontman Taylor Goldsmith successfully commanding the audience's attention throughout the whole of their set. Dawes' cover of choice for the night was Little Feat's Long Distance Love, sung by super-talented young drummer, Griffin Goldsmith.
Jonathan Wilson's set, once again making full use of Dawes as something rather more than just a backing band, was pretty damn special. Obviously it was made even more when Jackson Browne set foot on stage. The Warren Zevon covers were received with much enthusiasm. But of course. In fact, HERE's a rather good video of "everyone" performing Play It All Night Long.
Well to hell with subtle name dropping: Caitlin Rose + band, Judie Tzuke, Roy Harper, Chuck Prophet & Foster The People were among those lucky few who made it down to the gigs, along with what seemed to use like half of Fleet Street. Good.
